Avoiding The Energetic Drain

"You must feel so drained".. I hear it all the time.
As a Kinesiologist I am working on the physical, emotional and energetic levels in all of my sessions and am seeing up to 16 clients during a 12-13 hour day.
And while this business structure is temporary (i.e I don't plan on working those hours for an extended period of time) I am not drained by the sessions. In fact I feel much more drained on my days off with 2 little boys under 5 at home!

I've learnt the techniques of protecting myself energetically, but the theory of protection never sat well with me.

Why don't I want to "protect myself"?
1. It creates separation. I have nothing to fear. My clients need something off me. But I know that I am not the one healing. That energy is flowing through me to them. I am guided completely in what I do. When they need, they are not looking to me. They are seeing the channel that I am connected to. My role with each client is to connect them to that energy so that they can trust that it is there and use it for themselves.
The image I was given by guides looks a little like this:

The energy to the client (the yellow) is separate to my own channel (purple) and flows within my aura but not through my body.

2.
I don't need to heal their pain. Pain is not something we have to be fearful of. If I am fearful of their pain or am trying to take that pain away it feels incredibly disempowering for that individual. My role is to help guide them through the pain by walking beside them as they experience it and come to a deep acceptance within themselves. If we can help our clients to dive into their pain without fear then we can bring empowerment to their experience of life! I don't want them to think that I am the one healing them of their pain! I want their experience with me to show them that pain is a natural state in life and there is nothing to resist. Their healing and what they do with all that was given in the session is their responsibility past my 4 walls. This is also why it's so important to make many follow up appointments! So that they can go away - play trial and error/ flow with their pain and they are safe in the knowledge that we are connecting again to feel into each step of their journey.

When practitioners are connected to love and we see ALL scenes in life through the lens of love, then there is nothing to fear.

When there is nothing to fear then there is no need for protection.

For me protection feels heavy and draining.
By staying curious and present with a client I can stay in a space of trust. When I trust, the session flows.
My space is one of deep listening. To the client and to the guidance given. When I am listening, my mind stops. When I am listening I am in a state of love and acceptance of whatever is said, whatever comes up and whatever is needed of me during the session.
I am in complete service for the client.
The money given at the end is my energy exchange.

Because there is no fear attached to pain for me, I am not fearful of the client going through pain in between our sessions. It's part of the journey.

Also, because I am always making follow ups with my clients, the amount of new clients is limited!
The relationship is there and so there is no energy going to establishing a connection.
Because of this flow and feeling of safety my clients have, most of my new clients have been introduced by people I already have a relationship with so the trust has already been established by the time they make the appointment. All the boundaries are soft so it's easy to connect!
