THE number one way to promote yourself. It's genuine and relies on word of mouth referrals. When there's so much variety in what we do as natural therapists, it's not what we do that attracts our clients in, it's WHO WE ARE as people and the energy that we hold in a space. I hold networking 100% responsible for growing my business. When people know you personally, it's so easy to pass others on. As compassionate humans we all just want to help other humans. 1. Meet up with local practitioners for coffee. Email them/ call them/ pop in and introduce yourself to say hi. 2. Theres networking events - some are free, some a small fee may be required. 3. Hold a mediation/talk/dinner for other practitioners. 4. Add yourself to local business Facebook groups.
2. Put Your Knowledge Out There
Pick a topic and talk about it! So much of what we know seems 'obvious' to us, but I can guarantee there's many people out there that need a bit more guidance on their health in all forms. * Hold talks/workshops. * Hold a Webinar. * Create Postcards with magnetic strips. * Ask bloggers if you can guest blog. * Send articles into the local newspaper/magazines. (Just keep sending them in, don't take no for an answer :-) ) * Write articles for the local schools. * Sign up to www.sourcebottle.com and answer as many call outs as you can.
3. Just Keep Talking
Blogging really is a useful tool. And it's free! With health, there is a large percentage of people that will just hold off on making a change. Therefore, people will generally hear your name or therapy a number of times before they make a booking. Write a blog, make a vlog (a video blog), create a podcast - choose whatever form suits who you are as a person. Then get out of your comfort zone and keep creating content. Trust your heart and intuition then use that throat chakra fearlessly!
4. Get Creative
Find your quirk and run with it on social media! * Some people are incredibly beautiful creators - keep creating and posting on instagram and facebook. * Some people it's humour and your social media becomes your platform for sharing humour. * Some people it's connecting people and you'll feel that posting stories about other inspiring people resonates well with you. * Some people it's knowledge and you find you have tons of tips, tools and info which you can share. * Some people it's inspiration and it's all about quotes and uplifting stories which you'll want to share. * Some people it's community and it's all about setting up a community project or a facebook group which people can join and share in.
5. Pool Resources
Get together with other practitioners and hold talks, workshops or webinars, do podcasts - get creative! It will split the cost and help you bounce off each other in the first stages of putting yourself out there.
Whatever you choose, don't take it too seriously and you don't have to be perfect! Choose one from each category to focus on at a time and jump in!
