The difference between a trauma-informed therapist
and one who just has heart
means everything for the person who is carrying hurt within.
When the heart and mind work together, life blossoms.
The Trauma-Informed Course For Holistic Therapists
Becoming Trauma Informed
isn't an option anymore...
This isn't a titillating pitch.. but we have to get real here...
Holistic therapy is more popular than ever as a choice of health care for the mind and body.
This also means that our spaces need to reflect the standard of health care that is expected from the general population.
This includes being trauma-informed.
The simple truth is,
trauma is not a topic explicitly covered in most holistic therapy courses,
yet in our spaces, people feel safe to allow themselves to speak the fears that their bodies have held.
If the therapist is unable
to meet this vulnerability with wisdom as well as heart..
it does leave its mark on a client.
I know..
because just in my clinic alone, I have seen countless clients who have been unintentionally shut down or hurt by their therapist.
I have been in that position myself.
There are many things that we can learn
through experience with our clients.
But how to hold trauma shouldn't be one of them.
What you need to learn.. and a bit more..
with a holistic lens.
01.
Understand Trauma Beyond the Diagnosis
Learn how trauma is created, stored and expressed through the brain, nervous system and body, allowing you to recognise the hidden patterns driving your clients' symptoms, behaviours and emotional responses.
02.
Read the Nervous System with Confidence
Develop the ability to identify survival responses such as fight, flight and freeze, understand where clients are in their healing journey, and know how to meet them with the right therapeutic approach.
03.
Hold Trauma Safely and Compassionately
Build the confidence to support clients through complex emotions including shame, grief, anger, dissociation and suicidal ideation, while creating a therapeutic space that feels safe, connected and deeply regulated.
04.
Work with a Wide Range of Trauma Presentations
Gain practical knowledge of the unique impacts of abuse, birth trauma, betrayal, grief, illness, bullying, divorce, accidents, compassion fatigue and more—so you feel prepared for the clients who walk through your door.
05.
Learn Trauma-Informed
Somatic & Talk Therapy Skills
Leave with somatic therapeutic techniques, counselling frameworks, ethical decision-making and mandatory reporting knowledge that you can confidently integrate into your clinical practice immediately.
Hi, I'm Emma Sternberg

I'm a Holistic Therapist, educator and mum to three incredible boys. For the past 18 years, I've had the privilege of sitting alongside people as they've navigated trauma, anxiety, chronic illness, grief and some of the hardest moments of their lives. Those years in clinic have taught me that healing rarely comes from having the perfect technique—it comes from helping people feel deeply seen, safe and understood.
Over the years, I've also found my greatest passion in teaching and mentoring practitioners. I believe that when therapists understand trauma, the nervous system and the language of the body, everything changes. Sessions become calmer. Clients feel safer. Practitioners become more confident. And healing can unfold in a way that feels respectful rather than overwhelming.
I created Life After Trauma because I wanted to bridge the gap between traditional practitioner training and the realities of working with people carrying trauma.
My hope is that this course not only gives you practical, evidence-informed tools, but also changes the way you see your clients—and perhaps even yourself.
I'm so grateful you're here, and I can't wait to learn alongside you!
What do others say about it?
More than just learning...
I was referred to your course by another student, and I was a little skeptical whether the contents would be valuable, as I’m on a budget and need to be discerning about how I spend my money.
I just wanted to say that I’m so glad that I decided to join the Life After Trauma course. I’m finding it to be a well-written, easy to follow course with really pertinent content.
Even the way it is formatted, helps to absorb the knowledge without the overwhelm that occurs with some text layouts.
The course that I took to be a better practitioner, has given me so much clarity, with explanations as to why I reacted in certain ways to my own complex traumas.
It has validated the intuitive insights that I had about how to clear the physical and energetic resonance of the hurts.
Thank you for putting your knowledge & wisdom out there in a succinct and practical way so we can pay it forward to our clients (and understand our own processes better).
